Which is the lessor of two evils?

Although I have been a SageTV user since the dark ages, upgrades have always frightened me. I am running 9.0.12 on the server side and want to build a client on a laptop. The latest 9.2 client won't connect to the 9.0 server so I must either (1) find a 9.0.12 client somewhere (haven't found it) or upgrade my server to 9.2. I use SiliconDust via DCT for 6 tuners. The server has been stable since 9.0 so I'm very worried about touching it.

Advice? What is the least likely to have me sleeping on the couch? Thanks!

If you're running SageTV server on a 64 bit computer, I would take this opportunity to upgrade to 64 bit SageTV server (which will be a blessing in disguise for you).

You can install the 64 bit version with the older 32 bit version still on the server and switch back and forth at will. It is, however, important not to run both 32 bit and 64 bit at the same time (very important if you run SageTV as a service). Please be sure to clean-install the 64 bit version and work your way through bringing it up to speed and once you're comfortable with it, stop using the 32 bit version.

This took me an hour or three on Saturday morning to study up on a fresh installation with OpenDCT 64 bit, and then a few hours Saturday afternoon to have it up and running. I stopped using SageTV 32 bit that night.

CptKirk: You PM'd me this morning when I was off-line and now you are off-line and I am here. Modern life! Anyway, I would love to get the Client installer! What's the easiest way for you to send?
