Yes. They should come back. It sounds a little like there's a problem outside of SDEPG, but I can't tell what because if it was an exception, we should see the stack trace.

Edit: I just realized that I don't see any SD updates happening in the log. Just some OTA EPG updates with you Hauppauge card. If you have the web interface, try click on force EPG update, then post that log.

I don't have a force update but I did click on UPDATE on the web interface on the EPG Grid View page.

I have only two sources in my Windows setup - Hauppauge Siena Video Capture HDMI and HD PVR 60 Capture Filter (HD).

The attached file is what ENE was referring to; Force EPG Update, in the web interface, if you have that plugin installed.

1) Have you tried deleting one of your tuners and re-adding it, and assigning a Schedules Direct Channel Lineup for your TV service? Sometimes your service provider does small changes to the service and re-names the lineup.
2) Did you originally use any plugins to import your channel lineup?
3) Because your other server is still populating, I assume this isn't the case, but is it possible that your Schedules Direct $25/year service year is up?
4) What versions of Java are installed on that machine and did that change recently? 32 bit/64 bit?

Ah! the force update was on the home page - i was looking on the epg grid page - sorry - attached is file.

I've done that a number of times - assigning a completely new SD lineup is what finally did populate the grid but none of the other changes made any difference - I added a basic cable one. I removed and added the sources a few times too.

No plugin used to import channel lineup

nope - SD paid up

Java version 1.8.0_151 - a year ago - think I only have 32bit since Sage doesn't use 64 but can't remember how to check - sorry.

Isn't there a setting somewhere in SageTV UI that tells the EPG how many days to fetch? Maybe that got changed somehow. Let me see if I can find it ...

Yeah, it's in Sage.properties called "scheduling_lookahead" Mine is showing 1209600000 [in milli-seconds] = 14 days.

EDIT: yeah, that setting is also in SETUP > DETAILED SETUP > CUSTOMIZE > NUMBER OF DAYS TO SCHEDULE RECORDING (about 1/3 of the way down the slider)

Someone suggested on this page there is a default of 3 days in there, for systems that can't deal with more;

Just for the heck of it, try backing that down to what mine was showing (which translates to 14 days instead of your 21 days). As always, be sure your shutting SageTV down and the SageTV service, too, if that's running before changing the properties file.

ok - done and log attached (though I have had it at that setting for years I think - since 21 days of data were supplied)

Just to confirm, it's now set to populate your EPG out 14 days, and it's still only populating 3 days out?

I just changed mine to the 21 day setting and can confirm it works fine on a much older version of Sage V9.

What do you mean by "all those timed recordings?" Do you mean your list of favorites, or do you mean "timed recordings" that you have manually configured, and if so, why do it that way?

no, as I wrote earlier, it's been populated since the time I had changed the lineup from SD to a basic cable one, the whole grid filled with data for 21 days.

But I think the problem is now is that the log files are not showing the EPG updating - as EnterNoEscape wrote:

"the EPG update starts, then immediately says it's done with no logging in between"
which is why we are forcing updates and I'm sending him the logs.

All the logs (except for one below when i actually did update) show:
Sun 10/21 16:26:42.909 [main@da2dbb] Splash: EPG is initializing...
Sun 10/21 16:26:42.927 [main@da2dbb] Increased hash set pool to size=1

When it worked (when I changed the lineup to basic cable), the lines in the log were:
Sat 10/20 21:34:53.921 [main@da2dbb] Splash: EPG is initializing...
Sat 10/20 21:34:53.930 [LuceneShowTransactionTask@169dc70] 47.34% / 10563 work queue, 21722 inserted @ 0.12 ms/show avg [tot:2662ms]

That line is missing from subsequent logs - I'm not positive but "think" it's the relevant entry.

I also have no SDMD5... files in my directory after deleting them earlier and EnterNoEscape said they are supposed to re-generate.

I had tinkered so much with things that I finally restored a backup TrueImage backup from october 15, I reverted to Sage 9.1.8.770, deleted the lineup from Schedules Direct and then recreated it, and now all is well. Sdmd5ched and sdmd5prog files have updated too! I'll keep my eye on things the next few days to make sure the data updates daily.

I had also updated all the plugins previously which I have not done this time.

I know myself well enough to know that I'll probably try the updates again but I'll make an image of my system beforehand so I can go back to it if need be. I'd love to be able to pinpoint at which point the problems begin!

Thank you all so much for all your help trying to figure this out!
