Windows 10 Update Problems - Restricting Access to Capture Devices
Did a quick search of the forums and didn't see this posted anywhere, but it hit me today:
Updated windows, and could no longer access my HD-PVR. Looks like MS is tightening the hatches on camera access, but affecting TV capture cards as well. SageTV would no longer access my HD-PVR. But saw this on Hauppauge's website: http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support.html Went to Windows 10 Settings->Privacy->Camera and enabled camera access, and everything is working again now. -M |

Thank you for posting this. I have been trying to solve this problem for two weeks. Ended up reverting to Windows 7 temporarily.

Thanks from me too. I thought my Colossus had died.
Windows 10 only, as only it has Privacy settings, at least as far as I know of.

Thank you!
However it solved half of the problem. Now the new recordings have no sound. (old recordings play fine) In the mic privacy settings, I enabled the mic access. Still no sound... EDIT: I begin to think that it's an hardware problem with my HD PVR 2. While using the HDMI Passthrough I still have the same problem (no sound). I sent an email to Hauppauge. I hope they will able to help me. EDIT 2: Good news: It was not an hardware problem. I uninstalled the Windows 10 April update and everything is working fine again. Bad news: Hauppauge do not reply to my emails. It surprise me because I remember that in the past they had a good customer service. I wonder if they still support the HD PVR 2... I hope so, they should update their driver to make it work win the latest version of Windows (assuming that it's the source of my problem). Last edited by Vitalogy; 07-11-2018 at 05:08 AM. Below that setting, there is a list of app and I can choose to allow/block access to those app. However I see nothing related to SageTV or Hauppauge. Is it normal? I expected to find SageTV in that list...

The page indicates that "Camera Access is ON" and I've "Allowed Apps to Access Your Camera." |
