How good is the WinTV USB unit compared to the 250?

Circuit City has the WinTV USB on sale and with (ugh!) rebate for a final price of $30. How well does the WinTV USB work? I have a PVR250MCE and it works great. How well can SAGE handle the combination of these two cards?

Thanks,
Steve

no sage cannot use that card (oh usb device)
it only uses hardware encoder cards/usb2 devices
that usb device is basically a WinTV radio/Go type device
the only usb device that sage currently supports is the usb2 pvr
which is more like almost 200 dollars

I posted that they have the pvr 250 for 100 thats a good deal

you way too slow

For that price, I assume that is for the original usb 1 version. As far as I know, it doesn't work in SageTV, since it doesn't have a hardware encoder.

The WinTV-PVR-usb2, on the other hand, has a hardware encoder & works just as well as the 250, at least over a usb2 connection.

Confused... I was pretty sure that the
WinTV PVR USB has a hardware encoder, but is USB 1.x. where as the WinTV PVR USB2 is roughly the same device with USB 2.0?

Of course the "original" WinTV USB was probably software encoding and junk =) (note the lack of the "PVR" monicker..) Not sure which is on sale at CC, but I digress...

Let me know if i'm off the mark there...

Yes the first USB dose have Hardware Encoder but it was using a older chip which needed a custom API which didn't support DirectShow at all the chip know as iCompression iTVC12 as for USB2 no it not the same but it dose use the same chip as PVR 250, 250MCE and Roslyn which all use the Conexant CX23416.
