Spinning circle issue/question

I am running 9.1.5.683 on a Windows 7 box with 6 different drives ranging in size from 4TB to 8TB. In an effort to "consolidate" the free space (at least for looks), I installed Stablebit's DrivePool. I created a pool on K: and I have (2) 120GB SSD drives as "cache" drives.

Ever since I installed DrivePool, I have noticed that I experience many more spinning circles, and some of them can last for 30 seconds or more on my HD300.

When perusing the forums about this awhile back, I ran across a post where someone suggested that the issue was probably a problem with java accessing the filesystem, and then they mentioned a way to look for the symptoms. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find that post again to be able to set up the proper logging.

If the original poster of the diagnostic message, or if anyone else remembers how to look into this, I would really appreciate it. My wife is fairly understanding about it, but it sure makes me feel foolish when Sage just seems to go off into the weeds for what appears to be no good reason.

SageTV will access the filesystem for many reasons. if you using Gemstone UI then it will need to query the filestem to read files for views and pull the fanart etc. In the past when I've seen this, my drives would go to sleep while I was watching a show, and then when the show is done, and I'd go back to a menu, I'd get a spinning circle. Preventing my drives from sleeping fixed it for me.
