of anamorphic DVDs, non-square pixels and source relative stretch

My TV has non-square pixels (4x3 running at 1776x1000i).

Zoomplayer has a feature called "source relative stretch" that magically makes anamorphic DVDs display properly.

When I play such a DVD in SageTV, I have black bars on all four sides.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I think the only way to do it now is to run about 66% vertical zoom in the 16x9 AR.

Yes, what I want is a new property/configuration item/whatever, to tell Sage what the physical AR of the display is so the rest of the AR modes work correctly even with non-square pixels.

I knew who was going to reply... thanks.

Sounds like Zoomplayer can't be replaced yet for me. Dang.

Why not? DVDs only come in 2 ARs 4x3 and 16x9 (the movies on them may be different). With Fill and a 16x9 setup like I described, you should be able to watch 4x3 movies fullscreen, and 16x9 movies letterboxed.

Wouldn't I have to switch back and forth?
