Lots of wait spirals since installing comcskip

I just installed comskip on my Sage / plex box. A windows Core i5-2500 3.3ghz with 8 gig memory, 6tb gigabit connected nas for recordings, which has 1TB free and 1200 recordings.
Since I installe comskip when we page down in the list or recordings we usually get the 'wait spiral' before it acutally does page down.
Should it really take that kind of performance hit? My wife is suggesting we just remove it, but I figured I'd check. Is this not a beefy enough system for running this on sage with plex on the same box?

Is Comskip running when you get the spirals?

You mentioned that you have 1200 recordings, are you running Comskip on all of your old recordings to catch up?

How many instances of Comskip are running at once?

If you are running too many instances of Comskip at once, it could easily saturate your network and/or disk bandwidth and/or CPU processing. If any of those get saturated, SageTV could easily get bogged down.

Completed the scan and figured the lag would stop after that, but it didn't. It was running 2 qt a time, I changed ti to 1 just now. Haven't changed any other settings waiting to see if that helped...

If you are using the Commercial Detector plugin, you can try the option "Run More Slowly" in the settings. That can help keep Comskip a little bit more under control.

Is there stuff in your database that's not accessible? Like paths that no longer exist? If so, every time the UI hits one of those, the comskip plugin will sit there and wait for the path to time out.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'm just going to remove it.

Anybody know if there's an easy uninstall doc somewhere?
