Closed Captions Problems Again
Xfinity/Comcast (San Francisco) has made some changes in the way it broadcasts some cable channels (in my case all the channels above 720).
When I tried to view any of these channels today I got audio but just blocky, unusable video. I went to Detailed Setup/Video-Audio and changed the h.264 Video Decoder Filter from ffdshow to DivxH.264 Decoder and this fixed the video but would not let me see closed captions. I've gone through the various available H.264 decoders, including the LAV decoder and none of these will display closed captions. Has anyone found an H.264 decoder that will work with Closed Captions to replace the ffdshow decoder (which worked great before but doesn't work anymore)? I'll greatly appreciate any suggestions as I am heavily dependent on closed captioning. (My setup is SageTV9, Windows10, HDHR-Prime) |
