XMLTV EPG issue

Hi,

My PC crashed badly and I had to get a new one. I have re-installed SageTV from scratch (V7) , entered my V6 and V7 key, all good.

I am now trying to get the EPG to work and I am struggling (I am still V7 and not V9 yet).

When I select in the Setup Wizzard "Use US, Canada, or XMLTV Guide Data with this source", I am presented with a "Please enter your Zip/postal code"

Whatever I enter on that screen (nothing, 00000, 80201 ,... ) I am presented with a message "There was an error connecting to the SageTV server. Please be sure your Internet connection is established and that you have entered the correct Zip/postal code".

I read the forum about it, opened the port 7760, tried to run sagetv.exe REGISTER again , tried to enter a zip code at least 20 times, always the same error.

Can someone please help ? Not sure why it is trying to access an EPG server when all I want Sage to do is read my EPG XMLTV line-up in an xml file....

Thanks, L.

Hi Eternal, no I have not installed any plugging.

Can you give me its name ? And the details of the line to add in the properties file?

Thank you for your time.

SageTV EPG Service has been shut down on 7/1/2017: https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63884

You have the following options:
- use Schedules Direct (its integrated in SageTV v9 - you have to subscribe)
- use Over-the-Air EPG (it free, but in most countries not very accurate)
- use XMLTV (you need a plugin to import the XML-files)

In SageTV v7 I was using XMLTV-Importer - as far as I know there are other plugins as well to import XMLTV data. I never used them. When migrating to SageTV v9 I switched to Schedules Direct. I love to have accurate Season and Episode infos to avoid twofold recordings.

Ignore my previous response, as by pluggin, I thought you meant one from the sagetv pluggin repository....

I have XMLTV Importer installed indeed.

I believe I might just be missing that line in the properties file, will try tonight to add:

epg/epg_import_plugin=xmltv.XMLTVImportPlugin

as detailed in http://www.lmgestion.net/@en-us/4-22...faq.htma#B_3_3

Thx, L.
