I don't think either of my HDHR tuners have transcoding built in. Therefore, no option to turn it off.
At this point I don't know what else to try. Suggestions?

If that doesn't work, I would get a copy of the log file from Sage, zip it up, and post it here. Hopefully someone will be able to spot something useful in the log.

OK...
This morning I uninstalled Sage completely (except the backup) from my server, rebooted, and installed Sage v7. The install went well and I was able to configure the HDHRs as video sources, and successfully did channel scans from within Sage. It was working. I then installed the most recent Sage v9 over the top of the fresh install of v7, and when I tried to do a channel scan the errors returned. Quote:

As a temporary (hopefully!) workaround I installed Sage Server on my Win10 64 Pro desktop.
Everything works. No issues at all with the HDHR tuners. If anyone has any idea about why the HDHRs are not working on my Win2012 Server box, I'd sure like to hear them. Nothing has changed from above. Again, this morning I wiped Sage from the server, installed and fully configured Sage v7 with no problems, installed Sage v9 over the top, and the HDHR tuners do not work. Thanks. .

Again, this is directly related to installing Sage v9 over the top of Sage v7. My installation of Sage v7 had been working fine for years. I was not getting these errors until I did the upgrade. Note that on the temporary working installation on my Win10 desktop, Sage is connecting to the exact same HDHR tuners. Also note that the Win Server 2012 box is fully updated. Thanks! .

I am no expert but BDA is Broadcast Driver Architecture (BDA) is a Microsoft standard for digital video capture on Microsoft Windows operating systems and Demux is Conversely, a demultiplexer (or demux) is a device taking a single input signal and selecting one of many data-output-lines, which is connected to the single input So it looks like your decoders may be messed up or your splitter that came with your decoders if you have some. Can you open up your detailed setup under setup and check what decoders you have setup up for mpeg2 and other video playback or post a screenshot of it, ok? I (re)installed the BDA support files, and it works. But you're right, it's strange that v7 worked without updating BDA support. Everything is working as it should. SD EPG works fine. I'm a happy camper. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

I am getting the same errors upgrading a Vista install.
How do I fix the BDA driver problem for Vista? I am upgrading from I believe 9.0.4.220 to 9.1.5.683. Only upgrading because happened to see the message a week or so ago about epg turning off. So now I cannot record any OTA channels I tried to check the hdhomerun from a mac and the new software automatically upgraded (without even asking) the firmware. (I hope it will still work if I have to roll back to older sagetv version) Tried removing and re-adding one of the tuners. Not sure what else to try. |
