CPU Usage problem
O.K So I've searched the forum for cpu usage and found some possible solutions and so I tried them and they didn't work. ie video rendering, 3D acceleration on/off, etc. What's going on is that when sage is running it consumes about 3% cpu usage, but as soon as I start watching tv it is a solid 100% with no deviation from that. I tried disabeling the PVR 350 out options and that had no effect on it. So does that mean its not the hardware? I also had it saving the recording to a second hard drive, so I switched that to the sage folder, which was on the host drive but that didn't work.
Any thoughts on what it might be thanks, wwright129 |

It would probably be software decoding, but 100% useage still seems extreme.
It should not PVR 350 Tv-out, turning that off requires that you use the software decording. You should try using only the PVR 350 TV-out, I would expect your useage to be less than 10%. I always use both hardware and software decoding and my CPU usage is about 20% when playing a program. When I pause the program useage drops to 2%.
