Turning Off Satellite OSD?

Hi, I have a DishNetwork satellite receiver and was wondering if there is anyway to turn off the OSD. Its annoying when I change channels in sage to see sages OSD pop up and the Dish's pop up behind it.
thanks

good enough...just one more thing for my other half to complain about . Those using DirectTV--are you using a direct serial cable to control the channels--is it fast? if so, I might have to switch over

I control 2 DTV receivers: 1 with serial (REAL FAST) and the other with USB-UIRT (faster than manually, but not as fast as serial....it doesn't have a serial connection)

Shows I care about, I pad so the banner doesn't become an issue. For the others, well, I just live with it.

Is there a way to disable the SAGE OSD? Or make it so it goes off the screen faster? Or move it to a different part of the screen?

It is in the same place that the SAT OSD appears and covers up info I would like to see.

From the sage configuration site:
http://sage.tv/2_papers/SageAdjustableProperties.txt

It gives some settings for how the EPG performs. Hopefully this can fix it for you.... otherwise maybe look into MlbDude's mod.

Ok, actually had to do some trolling around here to find someone else that this was bothering.

I know the folks at MythTV worked around this by sending a clear signal right after other signals. So for example, channel up would be followed by clear - it doesn't completely get rid of the osd, but it makes it a flash that you can hardly even see. Would it be that hard for SageTV to do the same thing?

I would like something like this too. I finally did switch over to DTV and the OSD is larger and worse than Dish.

If it was a recent switch, and you have a D10 receiver, yeah, the osd display when tuning a channel is huge. Oddly enough the menu to setup the receiver is tiny and even hard to see. (unless ya have a 50" TV)

I believe you could configure an extra button press using the .IR file.
