Questions about upgrading to v9 using the windows installer

I'm almost ready to go from v7 to v9 on my windows 10 PC. I want to use the windows installer to migrate from v7 to v9. I got some input from stuckless on what to do, but wasn't sure about a few things. Here was the method stuckless provided:

Option 2... Migrate...
- install sagetv v9 in a new location
- configure tuners
- test if all is well...
- shutdown sagetv
- copy clients/ folder from the old to the new
- copy wiz.bin from the old to the new
- start sagetv
- start re-installing all your plugins (web server, gemstone, etc)
I think the above steps to migrate make sense, however I do have some questions. I know I should make a copy/backup of all my v7 folders, however, I was wondering if it was ok to just rename my mina v7 SageTV folder to something like SageTV_v7 Backup and that would be all I would need to do? Or does the v9 windows installer name the main SageTV folder something different and I don't have to do that step? I want to start off with a clean install of v9, but do want to copy why wiz.bin file from v7 to V9.
If you could confirm the steps above from stuckless are correct and answer my follow up questions, that would be great.

Thanks,
Chuck

Yes. For a clean install you could rename the current v7 folder or if you just want v9 elsewhere the options in the installer allow selecting an alternate destination. although if you are going to copy the clients folder over later i suggest the rename approach so your final sage folder is the default.

the rest looks reasonable and if you have any issues you can always go back easy enough with a few renames.

Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to start fresh with my HD300's, so more than likely won't need to copy the clients folder, but will probably just rename just in case.

Thanks again,
Chuck
