Can you get RealPlayer play Video_TS off hard drive?
This may not be the right forum to post this but since most people here are into video apps, I figure someone might have a solution.
I have a Sage server and some clients on a super G wireless network. Palying back recorded movies with Sage has frequent hiccups as this problem is inherent with the reliability of bandwidth in wireless networks. The solution I have found is RealPlayer where I can have it buffer 30 sec of video and then watch recorded movies on the client from the server without any problems, jitters, or hiccups. I could not find any other program (Power DVD, WinDVD, Nero Show time, etc... to have this buffering ability) except RealPlayer. Now onto the problem or the challange. I am in the process of building a digial video library that is all on hard drives (also rip and place all my DVDs on hard drives... yes, I have about 1.5 terabyte or so). I would like to place all old DVDs in their respective Video_Ts folders and also convert all my Sage recordings to VOB and author them in Video_TS folders so that in case I need to get a hard copy, I would just burn the Video_TS folder and I'd have DVD ready to go. I need a program that could play Video_TS off a hard drive with buffering capabilty. RealPlayer only plays DVD off actual DVD drives not the hard drive. What do you suggest?.... (DVD drive emulation would work extremely limited for a video library of this size). Is there anyway to have RealPlayer play Video_TS off the hard drive? Is there any other program out there that could do this? Thanks, |
