Second HD PVR
Ok, so I was having problems with one of my HDPVR's. I sent it in for repairs and Hauppauge sent me a refurbished one.
I go into Setup Video Sources and expect to see the new one in there like HDPVR #2 but it's not there. It has been SO long since I set the original 2 up I can't remember if there is some trick to setting up the second one. Why is it not appearing in list of available devices? Any help would be appreciated. Long time user, oh yeah - I'm on registered version 7. |

First thing to check would be, does the 2nd PVR show up in Device Manager? (Right Click on "My Computer", select Manage->Device Manger ->Sound, video and game controllers). You should have 2 instances of Hauppauge HD PVR Capture Device. And, you should be able to turn one of them off, and watch the device drop from the Device list and then get added when you turn it back on.
Once you have determined that your PVR is actually recognized by your system, then, you need to Stop and Start the SageTV service to make sure it is picking up both devices. The above is geared specifically to Windows 7. Your method of getting to Device manager might vary depending upon your OS. |

Thanks so much - that is the problem. Only one showing up there. I'll get it figured out.

HD-PVR power supplies are notorious for failing - even some that 'appear' to be working just don't have the 'umphf' to drive the unit.
So maybe swap the power supply for the known good one to see if the unit works with it!?

It was the power supply. After swapping it out the replacement unit is functioning properly.
