New v9 server, HDPVR questions

Hi,

Please forgive me if this has been covered already, my search didn't turn up anything.

I'm in the process of moving my TV system to a new server, and since the old one has accumulated lots of hacks and custom tweaks over the many years of use I thought I would start with a clean install instead of migrating and upgrading my old v7 install. (I'll still be copying my wiz.bin however to get the metadata, history, etc.)

So far my experiments with my HDHR Prime have been going pretty good, but I have a question or two about the next phase. First, are there any v9 specific recommendations for setting up an HD-PVR I should be aware of? Otherwise, what are the current best-practices for using this device?

I also need to set up channel changing on the Comcast STB, so I have the same questions about it regarding v9 support and current best practices. I'm currently using an IR blaster and and oldish version LM Remote that is getting rather long-in-the-tooth as well, so a newer/better solution for channel change control would be welcome.

Thanks for any help you can offer!
Robin

on windows, the USB-UIRT is probably the best for IR blasting, supported natively in Sage, and can control up to 3 boxes.

I saw the USB-UIRT on the list and have been meaning to check it out. Thanks for the reminder and the recommendation.
