Google Search "unusual traffic" only with SageTV searches
I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this.
I use Google search a lot but the only time I ever get: Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. and To continue, please type the characters below: and Submit. is when I'm doing a lot of searches of the SageTV forum. I was wondering if it's because of Google's vested interest in SageTV??? |

I've seen that when I have closed and reloaded Chrome with a lot of Google search tabs reloading.

But not specifically related to searches related to SageTV? The correlation didn't occur to me until recently and then I noticed that every time I had the submit code screen, I had been searching for a lot of sage help.
weird. I never get it any other time. |

Well, at least I'm not the only one getting these. I've been getting these, too, particularly when I have a ton of chrome tabs open. It's a relatively recent thing, despite my usage not really changing in any way.

I got these for short while about a year ago... I happened a bunch of times, but I haven't seen it since. I don't recall it was related to SageTV though. When it happened to me, it was at work, I've never seen it happen at home.

Are you using IPv6 or has your ISP recently started to? (for your address)
Some services seem to be on a particular hair-trigger for "unusual activity" when it comes to people who are using IPv6 for some reason. Although that wouldn't explain the correlation to Sage, unless you're hitting the search engine frequently as you refine your search criteria. |

When I do the IPv4 IPv6 what's my address, it's only the IPv4 that shows - trying the IPv6 only test brings up the error page so I guess it's not IPv6. The IP is the regular ___.__.___.__ format.
And, yes, when I'm trying to figure something out in Sage I do a lot of searches and some pretty hair trigger modified repeats. But I have done the same thing with some searches just on the Google engine - but perhaps not as furiously? I also tend to have tab after tab open during the research so maybe that's it too. Thanks for the idea. |

I think I've even triggered it once or twice just paging through results. Basically, if you do it fast enough, you'll get flagged as potentially being robot/crawler and it'll shut you down for a little bit by giving you that other page instead, as humans don't generally process screens full of information that quickly. |

so I guess we're in the super-human class!
