Don't Like function changed
It looks like the function of flagging Don't Like has changed between 7 an 9
In V7, for a movie or an episode of a show that has multiple airings, I could flag a single airing as "Don't Like" and SageTV would then record one of the unflagged airings. In V9, if I try to do the same, all the airings are flagged as "Don't Like" With the V7 function it provided an easy method of tuning the recording schedule The API docs say that SetDontLike() applies to an airing, so I suspect that V9 is not functioning as it should. Actually, that was one of the post-open source changes to solve the problem where you mark one airing of a show as Don't Like, but it would then choose another airing of the same exact show and record it instead, after you just told it that you don't like it. the commit was named "Don't Like data is also stored at the Show level now".
In my opinion, the changed functionality is more correct -- don't record any airing of what was marked as Don't Like. I think the docs need to be updated. ![]() Edit/BTW: the Watched functionality is similar -- it gets set at the Show level also, but the docs mention the Airing. Andy

Thanks Andy, The change makes sense.
For me, the anomaly of how it worked previously provided an easy way to "tune" the recording schedule. I'll use favorite priorities to do that now. All we need is an API DontRecordThisAiring() ![]() John |

I forgot to say that I use a Manual Recording to specify that a specific airing be recorded, if I need to change what was chosen by the scheduler for some reason.

I use the manual recording method if there is a specific airing I want, but sometimes I just want any airing but this one.

There's a trick you can use which should still allow you to use this technique. If Airing A is the one that is scheduled that you don't want scheduled, and Airing B is another airing of that same show....then mark Airing A as Don't Like...this will cause both A & B to become Don't Like. Then, clear the Don't Like indicator on Airing B. That will clear it at the Show level...but leave it attached to Airing A at the Airing level. Thus giving you the functionality like it was before.
