EPG Question

I followed the instructions with the entering my license key as a system variable. (don't know if that is the right term)

Anyway, on "System Information" it does show tv listings by ZAP 2 it on the upper right.

It says that the last EPG update was a few minutes ago and the next EPG update is in 0 minutes.

My EPG though has no data.

Any thoughts on what is wrong or how I can troubleshoot?

Walk away and check it later. If it says it checked xx ago, and next check is in 0, than it is still bringing in data.

Have you tried reconfiguring the EPG source for the tuner? If you can do that, then maybe the lineup has changed and it just needs to be updated to whatever the new lineup is.

If you don't get any response when trying to configure the EPG source, then perhaps your license isn't whitelisted; in which case, see this post.

I just tried to go in and setup the EPG source for a tuner and when entering in the zip code, I get this:

Quote:
There was an error connecting to the SageTV server. Please be sure your Internet connection is established and that you have entered the correct Zip/Postal Code
I am trying this from the server itself. I also tried it from an HD200 on the hardwired LAN. I am running the server as a user service.

I sent a note to Narflex with my license key.

Sorry about that, this should have been the first suggestion, as that's the normal symptoms for an unaccepted license key. I didn't think of it, because you seemed to already have the lineup set up, which you wouldn't normally be able to do with an invalid key (since, as you've found, it can't even download the lineup).

No problem. I very much appreciate your time.

I thought I was all set myself. The way I interpreted Narflex's post was that if I was going to have an issue, it would have been in July. It sounded like it applied to all versions of SageTV. I have used Sage continuously since 2006/2007.

The only thing I did was switch to the open source version so I could run more PC clients (I only had 2 client licenses). At that time, I did enter in the environment variable, as requested, with my server key. I am going to triple check that when I get home. I think my key was through the defunct PC Alchemy, so maybe Sage didn't have it for the whitelist.

I don't even remember what made me try Sage back in 2006.
