Lost a submenu

Hi All,

Yup... still rocking the SageTV system.... it ain't broke...well, not too broken anyway.

I have a strange problem where I seemed to have lost a submenu and I am not sure how to get it back. Simple reboots do not bring it back. I haven't tried a reinstall yet. I have made zero changes to my system for years now, but this menu just disappeared.

On your recordings menu, if you select a show that had numerous recordings, it would pop up a submenu before showing you the episode list. One of the options on this list was to "delete watched recordings". So I might be a bit lazy and allow some show to record 40 episodes, and after I have watched them all I would use this to delete all of the recordings. Without this menu, I have to delete them one at a time, and it is quite painful.

The interesting thing is that this first of all happened with one of my tvs with an HD100 (yes, I still use 3 of them). It was weird, but it didn't matter much. Then it moved to another HD100 a few weeks later. No big deal, as I have a TV hooked up directly to my sage server. However, a month or so later, that menu disappeared there. I have one HD100 that has been unpowered for a while... fired it up and that submenu is still present there, but I expect it will eventually disappear.

Anyone seen anything like this before?

You should just be able to use the Delete command while the group is highlighted. But to answer your question, check Detailed Setup -> Customize -> "For grouped items: <option chosen>".

I think under Malore menus options in setup there is a sett that set browse group or select menu I believe just toggle the settings. I'm doing this from memory so you may have to look a bit but it is under settings.

No, see the option I mentioned above.

An easier way to change it is this: if Selecting a group jumps directly to browsing the group, then use Info while the group is highlighted & see the option at the bottom of the resulting dialog. The option I mentioned toggles which command opens the group options dialog & the option is also in the dialog that opens when either Select or Info is used on a group.
