Very basic EPG question

Hi - I have an old purchased version of SageTV 7. I stopped using it for a while, but restarted using SageTV again a little over a year ago.

After re-starting up SageTV (just executing it again, since it was never deleted from my PC), it came up fine. However, I was not getting EPG data anymore.

I assumed that the SageTV-sourced EPG data had stopped since it was predicted to stop working someday. Oh, well. So I subscribed to Schedules Direct.

But, I found out recently that the SageTV EPG never died ... How do I get the original SageTV-sourced EPG working again? I looked in the FAQ, but didn't find an obvious solution.

The EPG server at a few times over the last couple years has had some issues, and that may sometimes corrupt your setup a bit. Might take simply deleting and reconfiguring your lineups.

You might need to email Jeff, the guide server now checks that you have a valid license, it's possible that if you hadn't used it "recently" the guide server didn't know about your key and it didn't get activated. Jeff can activate it for you.

Thanks, guys! All very useful information!

It looks like I may have a little research to do before I contact Jeff, just to make sure I have everything in place before I get him to check on my subscription key.

Does an unrecognized SageTV license key result in the video source setup wizard getting permanently stuck on the "Downloading Channel Lineup" page? That's what I'm seeing right now.

I've sent a PM to Jeff, just in case.

UPDATE: I think I have the SageTV EPG working, at least partially. I removed the SchedulesDirect Plugin. I couldn't get past the frozen Downloading Channel Lineup page, but I was able to go an alternate route to use the channels from my HDHomeRun Setup.

I now see programs listed for about 10 days on all the major network HD channels, but almost nothing for the alternate channels (like, PBS World, MeTV, AntennaTV, etc.). I'm assuming that this data is being sourced by the SageTV EPG, since I removed the SD plugin.

I'm assuming there is a way to get program info for the other "local"-ish channels that are currently empty, right?

UPDATE 2: All EPG problems solved!

I'm getting SageTV EPG updates. I'm not sure, but maybe it was a result of forwarding port 7760 to my SageTV Server PC.

To resolve in the "No Data" EPG listings for most of my channels, I had to remap the "XX-Y" style channel numbers in SageTV (that HDHomeRun created from the initial cable scan setup) over to the corresponding Cox Channel number shown in the Zap2It lineup for Cox Digital in my ZIP code.

Thanks for all the help, guys!
