Wow, I hacked together that add-on so many years ago because I wanted my Sage recordings with metadata in XBMC. It was the first time I ever wrote any Python, and LehighBri ran with it and made it so much better. Cool to see that other people are still using it. I still use it all the time.

@arronb,
I've utilized your addon from time to time when running Kodi on my test-Raspberry Pi system. Just neat to see these older systems play nicely together. Thanks for your work! With the new open source v9 SageTV though, it won't work as the sagex-api-services has been updated to v9 and it looks for v7.1.9.12. Any way to easily update this older addon?

If you are refering to the Kodi Add-On that lets you watch SageTV recording I have a slightly modified copy I am using with Kodi 16.1. Think I added it to a post a few months back.....

Hi,
The problem I'm facing is that with SageTV9, Kodi cannot connect to the Sage server anymore. I'm trying to see if I can remove that version check dependency, but my programming prowess is limited.

So from this post download the attached files.
https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/sho...odi#post589361 Ensure you are not running Java 8 as the existing SageTV Jetty Server will not work with this Kodi Add-On if you are on Java 8. Latest Java 7 is fine. Read through the post above and the things it references. Install the files above in the correct locations as well as the correct version of the xbmc.js in the correct location. Configure the plugin and all should work. |

Thanks. We're communicating on another thread also, so I'm wondering if you're still on SageTV7.

I am on SageTV 9 at this point. I believe the Kodi Add-On will work on either provided you have the right Java and the Modified Add-On.

That's interesting. Thanks. Looks like there is more troubleshooting to do.
I'm also having an odd issue with the webserver no longer working, possibly Jetty related, so that may all be tied into the same problem.

I've been able to view the recording schedule, but the plugin errors out when I try to play the videos.

Wrong version of Java. Scary thing to fix that by going to an older one.

Or are you referring to security patches though?

Yeah, that Kodi plugin project was abandoned by the original creators. Not sure what kind of code updating would need to be made to allow Java 8 to work with it.
