Installing the 9.0.7.362 version on Windows totally broke the Web Interface and BMT for me, had to back it out...

Not sure what the version of Sage would have to do with that... I could see if you were updating BMT, etc, but not just updating the core.

Just the core. I'm guessing there's some incompatibility there, but had to restore it pretty quickly. Copied over the 9.0.7.362, they didn't work; copied over 9.0.4.287 and restored sage.properties, they work.

I wonder if the Sage.properties was the key here... When I updated my system... it hosed it and I ended up having to re-install a bunch of plugins... it was odd. I left the updated Sage core in place though.

Yeah, I first tried to update a load of plugins, but some still marked as failed after restart and it was broken. So I restored and tried again without updating plugins. Never tried new core with old .properties, will try tomorrow (it's late here).

Just experienced the same trying to upgrade to 9.0.7.362 - also broke Commercial Detector for me - went back to 9.0.4.232.

It would seem that the release notes haven't been updated in almost a year. How do we know what's changed so we can decide whether or not to update to a particular version?

The changelog was updated 7 days ago... but it only really includes I changed. Maybe over time, we'll be better at updating this.

Updating the release notes that are located with the downloadable version would be a lot easier for non-developers who generally wouldn't know how or where to find the individual change log files.

We'll see about automating that at some point... right now, we barely have time to create builds...

If you are running on windows, there isn't a 9.0.7 installer yet.. However, if you want to update before an installer gets built, you can download the Sage.jar file from bintray, and copy it over the old one (make a backup first), and you'll be at 9.0.7 (in here: https://bintray.com/opensagetv/saget...getv/9.0.7.369

The first post in this thread has a link where you can download the latest JAR file. From the link go to Files and download the Sagejar-x.x.xx.zip file. Stop SageTV fully and just in case, go into your install directory, (e.g. on Windows 64-bit C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV), and make copies of the Sage.jar file and the STV folder. Then extract the contents of the downloaded zip file into that directory.

I've been looking around but can't seem to find a nice instruction guide for V9 on Windows + network encoders. Can someone point me to what people are using? Info seems to be pretty scattered in terms of what's rock solid and functional in terms of the basics: EPG, Encoder config, UI, which combination of fanart plugins to install.

No one guide will fit everyone. For instance, what source so you have? Where are the recordings stored? Etc.

Yeah I get that. But I'd presume there is some basic stuff that everyone would want. I had to read at least 4 different posts to understand the installer, v7 license key setup, EPG options, OpenDCT vs SageDCT, commercial detection & skip, and fanart plugins required - phoenix, bmt, cmt ... really fuzzy (no pun intended :-) on which combination to install and configure for V9. Add I'm not gonna even mention UI options.

I just want to take advantage of the hard work many have done in getting V9 working in a stable / rock solid way.

understood, but almost everything you just mentioned are all completely separate things, that, believe it or not, a lot of users don't consider 'required' for a sagetv setup.

Was reading release notes for Version 9.0.12.

Quote:
Allow mounting DVD iso images as non-root
Does that mean SageTV can now read and play DVD ISO images? When was that feature added?

My guess is that it's been there forever... This change was really related to the SageTV Docker install on unRAID, to allow sagetv to mount .iso images as a non-admin user.

I thought I tested this the other day. ISO files weren't showing up in the Video folders. (9.0.4)
