If someone takes over the plugin, I assume they'll update the grabber and release an update.

I'm a noob to SageTV and the SD plugin....how do I access JSON service API with the web UI to configure my SD lineup?

By chance have you used any other "media center" products like MythTV or NextPVR or Windows Media Center (WMC) that can also use Scedules Direct for the EPG? Reason being, you only need to configure the SD JSON once and you should be good. I also use WMC for recording premium channels. And I had already configured WMC for Schedules Direct prior to changing my SageTV EPG source to SD. Once SD JSON service was setup for WMC I didn't need to set it up again for SageTV. I used EPG123 to setup SD for WMC. It can be found on http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/ in the EPG section (it has been given it's own subforum). It maybe easier than installing the webserver plugin (unless you have already installed the webserver). Just use EPG123 to setup the JSON service don't use any of the "scheduling" features which are for WMC. I certainly do not mean this as a dis to the webserver, which is a very nice plugin to have installed, just not as part of a first time install of SageTV.

One other thing you might be able to help me with since you use WMC and Sage.....in the Sage grid EPG, is there a way to get a list view timeline for an individual channel like there is in the WMC EPG when you highlight the channel name and hit enter? Hope that makes sense. |

sdepg plugin help
I am hoping someone can help me get this working.
Longtime WMC user making the jump to SageTV 9. I have followed setup/config steps step by step. I have done the windows installer setup on one x64 Windows 7 machine and am now trying on an x86 32bit Windows 7 machine. I am using HDHomerun tuners HDHR-US, HDHR Prime and HDHR Connects. Install goes great. OpenDCT goes great. Installed the sdepg plugin with the prerequisites and configured it with my SD info - all that is good. SageTV sees all the tuners. The problem I am seeing is when I add a source it asks "Use US, Canada or XMLTV Guide Data with this Source" which I choose then it asks for my zip/postal code which I type in but when I click Continue it just sits there and does nothing. The first time I did this on the 64 bit machine it worked and showed me the lineups I had to choose from and downloaded the data, but every time after that It just sits and does nothing. Two different machines on 32bit and one 64bit. I don't think it is a SD JSON issue as I have been using EPG123 with WMC for some time now and it uses JSON. I have sdepg enabled at SD as a JSON application. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks for reading and any help you can offer. |

If I go to the webUI and try to look at Status/Messages or Configure the Lineup I get the HTTP 500 error. This may be unrelated but they both involve the EPG so I'm not sure. I see httpclient-4.5.1.jar and httpcore-4.4.3.jar in the JARs folder. I've also checked the webUI and this plugin's dependencies and it looks like everything is installed. I've also done the command line lineup setup for Schedules Direct. I'm really stuck here. Any suggestions? Last edited by Zogg; 09-15-2016 at 03:09 PM. |

I'm planning on trying this tonight. Anything special I need to do to remove the old grabber (LM Gestion XMLTV Importer)?

More experimentation, if I copy all the jars from C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV\plugins\sdepg\tools\grabber\bin to SageTV\JARs, the SDEPG seems to start working. That completely borks BMT/Phoenix though...

That is unfortunate... Phoenix/BMT does upgrade the HTTP client that I'm guessing is used by SD plugin. I could roll this back, but it's still not going to fix your current issues, since sagetv never downgrades a plugin once it's installed.

No, it's worse, on a fresh install with only SDEPG plugin installed, both httpclients are installed. Not sure why, dependencies I guess. So an issue even if Phoenix/BMT never installed.

Also 2 sdjson files which seems to be causing one of the errors.

I just saw your post about copying over ALL the files. I could try that as I'm not using Phoenix (yet), but as a new Sage user I haven't gotten very far and I'd hate to limit myself in the way of plugins. My next step was to uninstall and reinstall the plugins, so maybe I'll try your trick first. I'm really just trying to evaluate whether to move from BeyondTV or not. I'm pretty sure I will but I have to get the basics working first. |

You'd also need to rename one of the sdjson files, even then I was getting more errors. I think waiting for a future fixed version of SDEPG is the best approach...

I'm hoping someone can offer up a fix or a workaround, but this plugin seems to be unsupported now. And since I don't have a license and can't use the Sage EPG data, I'm dependent on getting SD EPG data working to fully evaluate and use Sage.
My guess is it's a wrong path or file that needs to be updated, so hopefully we can figure it out. |
