"No Data" is showing frequently (EDIT: it's okay now)
Please check the SageTV paid version EPG source as one of my SageTV servers is currently showing numerous "no data" entries in the EPG.
Thank you. EDIT: Okay, I did the first step by clearing the data in the properties file, and it didn't resolve. It has now resolved and there are no more "no data" entries. Sorry for the false alarm. Last edited by KryptoNyte; 08-10-2015 at 08:43 PM. |

do you have a link regarding your solution, aka clearing the properties file data? thanks

Andy always sends us back to this post. Usually, I just have to go in and clear the values in the properties file (after stopping the SageTV service of course). So far, I've never had to delete the sources.

I've wondered how I had gone for years without an issue, but just in the past 12 months it's been like this. I experience it more frequently on my young server, the one that has a 2nd hand purchased license.

I changed the ZIP code
I got an error about 2 weeks ago that SageTV couldn't update the program guide.
Days later I jumped ahead 2 weeks and saw ALL "No Data" for the listings. Yesterday, as I was about to hit the no data days, I went after the solution. First I tried just refreshing the EPG. It would look like it was doing it and tell me it was doing it but it only did the download part for about 15 seconds. I checked the EPG and no luck - everything was No Data. I did it 6-10 times as suggested in other posts without success. Then just to be sure, I re-entered the license code as suggested. Other posts tell you how but it's this simple: Open a command prompt and enter: CD \program files (x86)\sagetv\sagetv\ Hit enter Enter "sagetv REGISTER" without the quotes and hit return. A dialog will pop up and ask you to enter your license key. If you enter a valid key it will tell you so. I got a happy answer so now I knew my key was recognized by the server as valid and SageTV was communicating with the server properly. As I like to take the laziest approach, I tried switching ZIP codes to the one next to mine. It said it was downloading the program guide - for over 10 minutes. At that point, I had to get other work done so I moved on thinking I'd come back to it later. After almost 1/2 an hour, SageTV went back to (I think it was) the main screen-audio from a show let me know it finished. I checked the EPG and it was fully populated. Changing ZIP codes worked. Then I changed it back to my ZIP code just to see what would happen. It re-downloaded the EPG in about 5 minutes and went back to the main screen. Looks like all is good. If it doesn't keep updating the EPG, I'll change it to the other ZIP code and leave it that way. Since a lot of people pose questions, get a lot of help in the forum, find the solution then never post what the solution was, I figured I'd post my fix so others who come across this post can try one thing that is known to work. |

Check appendix D of the manual and see if there isn't a clarification there that could get the REGISTER (all caps) switch working for you. Verify which directory contains the SageTV.exe file and make sure that the path is correct.

Got it sorted. Had to reinstall all affiliated software. Thanks.
