Green blotches on playback
I just started seeing an issue after years of using sage on the same system. On playback, I'm seeing green blotches on the video, then the audio cuts out. Some times it recovers, other times Sage crashes and shuts down.
I have 4 hauppage tuners, and have checked that this is happening on at least 2 different tuners. Any ideas here? Is this a playback only issue, recording issue? I have logging enabled, but didn't see anything obvious in the sagetv_x files. Are there other logs I can review? |

Does it happen on all channels or just some? It sounds like a signal strength issue. Have you made any changes lately? Added any new splitters or tv's?

Have you tried playing the files with some other software, like VLC, right on the server to verify if the green blotches exist in the recorded file itself?

I get those green blotches too from OTA and usually it's from your signal strength being low. At least for me it is.
If your using QAM then your probably recording from Satellite or cable and bad weather could be the reason your seeing this now but that is a guess too |

Signal strength. Has happened to me several times. You may have to have your splitters or cables replaced. Start by checking the connection tightness.
Not sure what hardware you are using but the SiliconDust stuff has setup / diagnostic software where you can see signal strength and drop out rate etc. |

I see this happen on my OTA HD recordings when I am recording 2 shows at once and I copy large files from/to the same HDDs that are recording the shows. Perhaps your problem is your HDD is not fast enough?
