The universal search would be really nice, but wouldn't that require a server somewhere indexing content available from various locations?
Does canistream.it have an API? |

They may not, but Gracenote (EPG provider for Schedules Direct and slugger's grabber) does.
The issue is cost. If we (Schedules Direct) add the capability of deep linking, so that if you want to watch "Toy Story" or S07E06 of "How I met Your Mother", you can be prompted that on Amazon Prime it's $x, and on iTunes in standard def it's $y, but iTunes HD is $z, and if you select one of the options you can go straight to the page that says, "Click here to start" then the server side is already there. But that data isn't free. Schedules Direct hasn't offered tiered service levels before, and unless people let us know that it's of value to them, and they're willing to pay extra, then there won't be any development work put towards it. So your question isn't a technical one, but a business case. |
