One more PVR-350 question

Hi again....

Thanks to all the folks that have been helping me!

I want multiple tuners in my system.

However (if you've been reading my other posts) I want to use a PVR-350 with its video output so the video looks correct and is never de-interlaced to show on a PC monitor.

That being said, if I have TWO or THREE tuner cards in my system (so I can record different channels) is there a way to tell Sage that it should only use one particular card to playback?

In other words, if I have a single 350 and a couple of blackbirds (to save money), I want Sage to playback to the 350 all the time so the video looks better, but it can record off of any of them.

Is that possible?

Stacy

Recording and playback in Sage are completely independent, so no matter what device is recording, it will always display on your selected output, the 350 in the given example.

I don't think the blackbirds have any playback ability, so there is no conflict. The 350 card is the only card than can playback. However, I would expect you would have trouble if you tried to put 2 or more 350 cards in the same system. The only output control I know of in SageTV is to enable or disable the 350 TVout.

Yes, SageTV can use any of the cards for recording or use the merit in the properties file to specify which tuners to use first. My 350 is always the last tuners used because of the way I set it up.

BTW: I don't think you can prevent SageTV from trying to use the 350 to record except to remove (via Sage setup) or disable it.
