Intel Compute stick

Looks interesting, maybe putting a Sage Client, and Kodi/XBMC in one stick. That's something those Android sticks can't do. Cost more than your average Android stick though at $149 with windows 8.1 (Linux version at $89)

http://www.engadget.com/2015/01/07/intel-compute-stick/

"Intel has rather impressively crammed in a quad-core Atom CPU, 32GB of storage and 2GB of RAM, along with a USB port, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 support and a mini-USB connector for power (HDMI power will come later). "

Has anyone attempted to use a compute stick as a client yet?

Initial reports from AVSForum weren't great. Anandtech did some tests:

Looks like GPU usage is really high for 1080i content (in Kodi at least).

From my experience with OpenELEC on a Chromebox, I wouldn't want to use one of these for anything that requires deinterlacing.

I tried it and the playback of most media is fine but it chokes out at 100% CPU when playback of LiveTV (Best quality of HDPVR .ts files)...

I never use LiveTV through SageTV.

There are other Brands releasing their sticks now too.
If they can work for 95% of users then you can't beat the price and footprint.
Plus you get a "real"ish PC.
You just need to add an IR receiver and your set.
