kny3twalker that eazy to tell look at root of CD and if you see a file called some like WIN51IP.SP1 then it all ready build in.

I'm not sure what the question is regarding SP1... My problems with large drives were with SP1 installed -- Atapi.sys on both my systems was an older version. (But of course, that sys file isn't the issue here.)

All I know is that I had SP1 installed, and lost my disk.
I guess that I am going to have to fill it up in a controlled manor, and cross fingers!!! One disk is WD, the other Seagate |

You didn't by any chance mess around with that partitioning technique that came out on Slashdot about six months ago, which was linked to an artical about increasing your hard drive space above the spec? If so, that is your problem. They found that the writer of the artical had no idea what he was doing, and basically duped people into putting a partition on the hard disk which was larger than the actual disk, therefore corrupting the hard drive once you got past a certain amount of data.
