Long Time User Had to make some changes.. please help

So I have been using SageTV for many many years.. Everything has been going well. Which means I have not touched or even looked at anything in years.. I just watch my shows and it works.. But today my Dish VIP221 died.. I had it hooked up to my HTPC via component cables to a Colossus capture card.. Well Dish guy came out and said STB was toast, and set me up with a new one.. This is a VIP221z.. It only has HDMI on it.. So I wired the HDMI to the Colossus card. Everything seems to work except I get no audio at all.. The video looks fine.

I have been reading forum post for the last 2 hours and my eyes are about to start bleeding.. I cannot find anything that specifically solves my problem..

Any help would be appreciated..

My settings are as follows not sure what all is needed.
Audio Renderer: DirectSound: SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS WDM)
MPEG2 Audio Decoder Filter: AC3Filter
HD Audio Decoder Filter: Default

I used to have trouble with audio locking up sage tv on my pc or other weird problems and eventually downloading the newest version of ac3filter at http://www.ac3filter.net/wiki/AC3Filter helped stabilize my setup.

After I installed that version of AC3filter , I changed the MPEG2 Audio Decoder Filter to Default so it would no longer try to use the Sage TV version of AC3Filter and that fixed my setup in case your problems stem from the old AC3Filter that was the trouble with my setup.

Forgot to mention my Audio Renderer is set to default as well and not Directsound or anything weird like that.

I don't have a Colossus card but I did have an HD-PVR.

Have you looked at your video source for the Colossus? Specifically what the sound source is for the connection?

What I remember, when I switched from the RCA stereo to SPDIF for sound, I had to choose the SPDIF option.

I don't know, but I presume, even with an HDMI connection it would be possible to choose between HDMI and SPDIF for the sound with the Colossus.

When using the compnonet connection, what were you using for sound RCA or SPDIF connections? For the HD-PVR I seem to remember it could be problematic to have both the RCA and SPDIF connections connect at the same time.

Again, I don't have a Colossus card and I could be way off in comparing it to an HD-PVR in how each is setup.
