Preparing for the day Sage EPG goes away

Hey guys. I've come back to SageTV and am concerned about what will happen the day that Sage stops providing EPG data. I think I saw an plugin that allows for importing an xml file via the mc2xml program. I'm very familiar with this program as I used it with nPVR for the past few months.

My question is this: Can I install the plugin but not activate it until I need it? I'd prefer to stick with the Sage EPG listings until it disappears, but I want to make sure I have the plugin installed in the event that when the EPG listings go away so do the file servers that house the mc2xml plugin.

Can anyone give paranoid me some advice on how best to go about ensuring that I can keep getting my EPG listings?

Can it be installed but set as inactive until I need it? I just don't want to break anything while trying to get things set for the future.

Yeah, I hear you. I'm definitely not a doomsday prepper, but I am in this case I guess. I just downloaded all the files referenced in SageTVPlugins.xml to my server so that in case the forums/fileservers/EPG suddenly disappear I'll still be able to install the third party EPG plugins.

Thanks guys...

Slugger did a nice job with the documentation, if you wanted to have a gander.
