HW Compatibility List for PVR-350?

Going to buy a new motherboard+cpu for a HTPC with only a single 350 in it for now (+ ext USB2 tuner). Thinking of adding an HDTV card later on. I have seen numerous posts about chipset compatibility but nowhere can I find a list of which chipsets work and which ones to stay away from. Does such a list exist? What suggestions do other 350 users have? Looking for micro-ATX format so I can re-use an existing case which fits nicely in my entertainment center. AMD or Intel CPU is fine, the cooler and quieter the better. I have an ATI AGP video card to use so onboard video is not necessary, plus I plan on using the 350's output anyway for Sage. TIA.

Safest chipsets for now...

Nforce2 flavors
ATI IGP 9100
440BX

Others are starting to work with the new beta drivers, but if your looking for compatibility for now, go with one of the above.

My Intel 815 has been rock solid. I think dual CPU and hyper-threaded systems can cause problems with 350:

spanky, what exactly do you mean by rock solid? Do you get any 350 output lockups at all?

I have now been running almost two days without any (soft or hard) lockup since I disabled hyper-threading on my CPU. However, I am running SageTV 1.4, so 2.0 could have other problems I have not seen. I now consider my system rock solid also.

I haven't run into the lockup problems that others are seeing at all and use the 350 output with the UI on (knock on wood). I'm running a PIII 800, PVR-350 and a 250 (ivac-15). The only complaint (minor) I have is sometimes button response is slow with the remote, but I can live with that.

I agree here. The nForce II chipset has proven most effective here. I haven't had a single lock up in 2 months now.

I'm thinking of building a system for my mom, and if I do, it will definately be an nForce II chipset.
