Psisdecd.dll faulting after client install on server

So playback never worked on my server. I tried installing the client, which actually fixed all playback issues! But now my service is crashing constantly (like every few hours) with an error in psisdecd.dll and is rendering everything unusable!

A restore to before the client was installed left playback fixed but still crashing, so my guess is something got registered that survived system restore. I am going to re image my box to before the install to hopefully get rid of the crashing, but what to do?..

Did you ever install mediaportal in the server? That looks like a file from TVSERVER.

Rolling back did nothing, acronis image before the install. Playback still fixed, psisdecd.dll still crashing constantly. No idea what to do now.

Coincidental hardware failure maybe?

Side note, I have two sagetv transcoded processes running consuming 400mb each. But no video conversions. I'm so confused, I thought I knew what I was doing

What I would do is Shutdown Sage completely ... remove all traces of Java reinstall java.

Nope because I do not know what you Installed on your System or what you have running on your System. That is just a step That I take first if I have Sage problems. Sometimes Java gets corrupted when it is updated and Sagetv is running.

jp

You may want to check out this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2746119

From what I can gather the psisdecd.dll doesn't register properly and will cause the issues you are having. It's a windows thing.

well it started crashing today after last nights windows updates.

System restore to this morning seems to have resolved it. Windows updates off for now
