Faulting application error for SageTVService.exe

Wonder if anyone has seen this error (or just has suggestions on how to fix). I've been having a number of issues which I've thought to be related to SJQ, and have reported the problems in that thread, but maybe there's a more general problem I'm having with Sage? This error comes up from time to time in the windows event viewer errror logs. Happens usually when sage is recording a couple shows, and has a few video editing processes running via SJQ, so the box is fairly well utilized at the time it happens (generally, there are exceptions.)

Anybody have any ideas on what the cause/fix is?

Code:
Faulting application name: SageTVService.exe, version: 6.0.13.1, time stamp: 0x4df93b47
Faulting module name: SageTVService.exe, version: 6.0.13.1, time stamp: 0x4df93b47
Exception code: 0x40000015
Fault offset: 0x00009811
Faulting process id: 0xfbc
Faulting application start time: 0x01cf51ae74995517
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV\SageTVService.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV\SageTVService.exe

I did a quick search for that exception code and this sounds like a pretty logical thing to try.

Thx for taking the time to investigate! I did all that isolation stuff in my own attempts to troubleshoot the issue without luck. Was hoping someone here would be able to say "yup, it's this, do that, all good".... But back to real life now

Any other suggestions appreciated!

Does the Sage service run in Safe Mode (I'm guessing not)? If it does, though, that might be worth a try. Also, have you scanned for malware, etc? If so, it wouldn't hurt to also pull the drive out and scan it in a fully patched/protected system, in case something has hidden itself quite well in the OS.

Have you tried a system restore to an earlier point before the problem arose? Do you have a system backup you can restore from? This might actually be easier than trying to track down the actual problem.

Lastly, you might want to use the HDD company's drive tools (via DOS) and run a full diagnostic on it to ensure it's not a failing drive (e.g. bad read head) causing all this.
