Video Recording settings (favs vs. manual record)

I've got an issue I'll like to get others opinions on.

I have lot's of shows in my Favs list. But there are a few I like to click "manual record" in the Live Guide to make sure they are recorded over other shows, even if they are repeats.

But here is my problem. My Fav's (only some that I burn to DVD) have DVD 3.2 set for video recording quaility. BUT, when I click to manual record them that setting is over written and the shows are all recorded at my Default setting which is just "Best" 2 GB (not DVD).

Can this be setup to ALWAYS use my Fav settings, even if I choose manual record?

Wondering if anyone else if having this issue?

Should I lust blow it off. It's a real pain for me right now though.

you can resolve conflicts in the recording information screen under schedule recordings
that way you do not have to manually record

also you can adjust a manual recording quality
after you click record
the button will change to recording option and when you click that you have the option to change the recording quality

furthermore you should not have any problem burning a program recorded with the best quality

the only differnce other than the bit rate of the recording is the output stream is set to program stream in best and set to DVD complaint in DVD 3.25 GB/hr

Well, these shows were already watched, but running a second time. I thought that they wouldn't be recorded and that's why I did it. Am I worng? Even though I have new and repeats selected in my Favs? It's a bit confusing or am I thinking to much about this whole thing. It's been a long day at work. hehe

If you want to record the Watched shows again, you have a few options: 1) remove the Watched mark before deleting them, 2) Remove the Watched marker in the Live TV Guide so the fav will pick them up again (assuming it is set to catch reruns), or 3) use one of the custom STVs to check your viewing history & clear the Watched status for those shows.

Malore's STV has a history viewer to do this. Mlbdude's STV can clear all the Watched flags for an entire favorite on the Favorite's Details screen.
