Browse videos by folder in Gemstone

In Diamond if you pressed options when you were in a TV recordings screen it brought up an option of something like "Video imports by folder".

Is there any easy way to do is in Gemstone? Or should I create a view to do this?

I sometimes import sporting events and they don't have any metadata so browsing by folder is the only way to go unless I manually create metadata.

For any of the "flows" you can set the view as "Video Imports by Folder" and it will display grouped by the folder in your imported folders. You might have to filter out/in by folder to narrow down the content to just what you want to show, like the sports shows you mentioned.

I use the Dual Flow type with the Video Imports by Folder view and then go into filters and filter down to the content I want to show. The Dual Flow seems to work well with the folder levels for me but depends on the way you store your files too...

Good luck.

In that view is there any way to make it show the Filename rather than the Mediatitle or Showtitle or whatever? Sage (or BMT) tries to import my files and gives them a bad title that makes it hard to find what I am looking for, especially since it gives the same title and metadata for almost all of the files.

That is not an option....but you can modify the title info that is shown within BMT...I do that for some titles that I don't like the metadata that is retrieved and especially good for "home" videos.

I think I will set my Sports folder to be a "Home Video" folder in BMT - then BMT skips trying to find metadata and fanart.
