Installing SageTV v7.1.9 on Modern Hardware
I have been using SageTV with an HD200 and a SageTV Client on a Windows 7 PC for several years hooked up to a Win 7 server. I am thinking of moving the client to a new Haswell Z87 based mobo, maybe an Intel NUC or an ITX mobo running Windows 8.1.
I want to build a silent PC that works as much like an HD200 extender as is possible, hence the use of Widows 8.1 for better power management and sleep/resume. I presume that Sage will work OK with the Intel 5000 graphics in 1920x1080 connected via HDMI to a TV. I am concerned about how the built-in Nuvoton Consumer Infrared (CIR) will be recognised by Sage. I have both an MCE remote and the original HD200 Hauppauge remote available & I know that I can set SageTV up to recognise either during setup. I know that SageTV will recognise a USB-IRT but I'm not sure about the built-in Nuvoton IR. Does anyone have any experience running the client on a Z87 based mobo? |
