Auto-Skip Commercials?

When I was dabbling in MythTV, it had a feature that automagically skipped commercials.

I can't imagine how something like that works, but Myth's implementation seemed to work well - skipping all the commercials and not skipping anything else.

Is there anything like that available for Sage? I poked around in v7 Customizations and nothing jumped out at me - but maybe it's hiding behind some acronym or another...

For your source material (MPEG-2 only), you can likely download the Commercial Detector UI plugin from the UI MOD section, and that will give you everything you need by default. This will download the CommercialDetector plugin, which will launch comskip on every new recording file (once finished recording, by default), and will also install the Comskip Playback UI Mod, which will read the files generated by comskip (.edl files), and skip the marked spots. You can, if you want, go into the Plugins -> Installed Plugins -> General -> CommercialDetector -> Configure Plugin, and there is an option to queue all files that have not been processed. Depending on the amount of recordings, this may take a few days to finish, but it should eventually get caught up, and all your existing recordings will be marked.
