New server, poor client playback
The primary hard drive in my venerable Sage/WHS v1 box died, so it was time to rebuild the server on a newer OS. I chose Windows Server 2012 Essentials, though this might not have been the best choice in hindsight. Sage is installed and seems to be working normally, connecting to my HDHomeruns and to my HD300 and HD100 extenders as well as my PC clients. Playback on the extenders is clear and smooth, but playback on the clients (win7) is blocky and choppy, unwatchable.
I've disabled SMB signing, as the internet tells me that this is one primary cause of slow network performance between WSE2012 and clients. Any other tips or suggestions? |
