Subtitles

For as long as I've been using SageTV I've wanted to get subtitles going. When they are clearly in the NZ DVB-T strean my understanding has always been its never been supported. The only fix being to use LMGestions DVB smart recorder. Until now I not done it as it affects system performance, and I built my box back in 2005 so it can't take any extra load. But I've just had to do a full re-build so now was the time to try it out.

The setup went fine and I got the network encoders working. Had the usual trouble with mapping existing channel line ups with the tuners. I've never manage to get my head around it so in the end gave up and had no EPG while I tried a recording. Stopped the recoding there were all the files in the folder and when I played them back and set "subtitles" in the options menu I got SUBTITLES!!. That earned me huge numbers of points from SWMBO.

I then tried another recoding and there were subtitles. I then tried a recording made long before I'd installed DVB smart recorder and SUBTITLES!!!

I've just shut down and uninstalled DVB smart recorder and I still have SUBTITLES!!!

I've no idea how long they've been working and I didn't know it but I' not complaining....
