Problems with network encoder

This is really a two part problem:

First, I have been having an ongoing problem with files generated by my network encoder being badly "damaged". They display signs of macroblocking but not all the time. It appears to be related to a network shutdown. The sage server will automatically reattach to the network encoder but I will begin to see these problems until I restart the computer that hasthe network encoder. I have never gotten any feedback(I have posted several other times) from this forum so I would have to assume that no one has this problem. I hope that someone has some suggestions. If we can solve this problem the second problem below goes away.

Second, when trying to play these "damaged" files back (either on a client or server) I will get random hard lockups of the video requiring a restart of Sage. When playing these files back with Zoomplayer, I still see the macroblocking but never get any lockups. The only filter that I can see that I different is the demuxer. Is there a setting (registry or otherwise) for the Sage Demuxer that will make it act more like the Elcard filter in this respect. BTW, I have already tried increasing the buffer on the Sage Demuxer.

Thanks,

Lain
