In Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Video, what settings do you have for your Renderer & Decoder?
Do you have an mpeg2 decoder installed? - Andy

you need to register the decoder you are using for video
sounds like the video decoder is a trial or something else |

Thanks for your response.
I had to make some adjustments in setup, and rebooted. It's all good now. I even installed Nvdvd 2.55 using those right now, there is definetly some improvement with these. Im getting some poping and crakling on sound while watching live TV, and also what seems to be some kind of weird skipping. Appreciate any help. change your audio decoder to default wave out
that usually cleared up the pops and such for me and set the audio decoder to spdif but do not use NVDVD audio decoder it has issues the skipping is probably you using like VMR9 for rendering with 5200 try using overlay or you could try disabling everything from starting with your computer via run and type msconfig leave your video card drivers, remote, and sage that should free up memory |

Thanks, I will try that when I get home. Any advice on getting better quality picture, or should I play around with FFdshow?
