XMLTV Sources not available?

Hi folks,

I am in the process of moving from Comcast to uVerse. Long story why, but it sort of boils down to $.

Anyway, I have a Hauppauge HD pvr and have it streaming a uverse set top and I am about 80% there in setting up the HD pvr as a new video source. Problem is when I get to EPG source and select XMLTV, I have no options (zero) for my zipcode or any zipcode! It's been a LONG while since I have added a line up source, but I don't recall not seeing any sources.

Is there something I am missing? Are these source no longer available?

Thanks,

Bump...

I could use some help as I need to decide whether to fully move to ATT or not. I am currently running both comcast and ATT while I "test drive" ATT. So far I really like the quality and channel options for significantly less $.

IS the XMLTV option no longer supported?

Why aren't you just using the Sage EPG servers for US (or Canadian) tv providers? XMLTV is supported, but I believe you must have the xmltv plugin installed and configured on your system before you can use it. I've never used an xmltv plugin with Sage as an EPG source so I can't provide any installation details.

Thanks I think I am not being clear so my mistake. When you are at the point of selecting an EPG in the UI (with no plugin, etc) the first option is US and Canada OR XMLTV. I always selected this in the past and was presented with the options based upon my postal/zip code. Now however, I am no longer get a list of optional guides. Does this make sense?

I thought Sage was using the XMLTV in the background but that was a bad assumption.

Ok, so that sounds like there's a firewall blocking your Sage server's access to the EPG server. Check the Sage FAQ to see what ports need to be opened. If it's not a firewall issue then you need to send your debug log to Sage via a support request. The EPG servers are working so you should be getting a response.

Ah - you are onto something I think. I had to shutdown the FW for a software update and perhaps it added some rules or something when I brought it back up.

I will check that out. Thanks.

So I tried disabling my firewall and confirmed I have no router restrictions in place but same behavior as before. I took a debug while testing so I will send what I have to support.

Thanks

Turned out to be WFE plugin...

I read in the FAQ of a trouble shooting fix when EPG was not working that suggested removing any epg_import_plugin setting from sage properties file. I saw the WFE plugin had added/updated this param. Disabling the plugin allowed me to add a new line up for uverse. Now to get the blaster sorted...

Thanks,
Tim
