It looks like the 1512 is showing up on amazon. Amazon says that they are out of stock, but one of their affiliates is selling it for about $20 more than Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

What am I missing, I don't see the differance between the 1512 and the original HD-PVR from the recording stand point and chipset.

I think the only difference is that it can record via HDMI with surround sound.

And the 1212 is limited to 1080i, while the 1512 claims to support 1080p.

I have to assume this comes with stipulations... HDCP, DRM, Copy Control flags??

That is what I am thinking. HDCP has to mean DRM. So HDMI is only for some content? So your still capturing via component for Sage use. Most cable boxes where I am are only 1080i, much like CC is.
Do we know if this will work with Sage? |

The Colossus works the same way with regard to its ability to record from HDMI. There are some here on the forums who have been able to use the Colossus to record via HDMI - I think most of those who are successful are using older DirectTV boxes. But, for most people I wouldn't count on being able to use HDMI for recording TV. From what I've read (here on the forum), this new HDPVR2 uses a different chipset and driver than the older HDPVR and Colossus devices. Supposedly it is more reliable and doesn't have the same bugs.

1512 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116086 1519 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116087 Any idea what the difference is between those? And can anyone confirm they do come with WinTV? Looking to use these in a sports environment for real time record from hdmi camera with pause and playback for coaching purposes. Thanks
