For the first time ever today (1/11/13) at 10:30pm EST I got the message 'The lineup "Verszon Fios Queens Digital-Fresh meadows" no longer exists on the EPG server. Updates to this lineup will no longer occur.', so it appears we are not out of the woods yet with this problem!

I got the "Warning - Channel Lineup Lost from EPG Server" message AGAIN on 1/12/2013 @ 5:22am.

I had gone several days with only having EPG out to 1/22 (which was less than the "two weeks" that I have set) and was getting slightly worried. Then this morning I got the message again (1/12, 6:37 am). But upon checking the EPG, I now have data out until 1/24. So.... whatever that means....

Got my first warnings late yesterday on DirecTV lineup and another for local over the air today when I forced an update.

I received the EPG for my lineup gone from server message last night. I see many users stating this is just due to some sort of glitch or temporary outage. Is this true and, what are our alternatives if our EPG lineup really does go away?

They're definitely having problems keeping the EPG servers running. I get the impression they're not sure what's causing the problem and are just rebooting/rebuilding them when they fail until they get it figured out.
It looks like the alternative would be the xmltv program and import plugin. There doesn't seem to be one definitive posting though that explains exactly where to find all the parts and how to get them working, you have to wade through several postings and find websites that still work. |

Edit: Actually, I just noticed that if I try to add a Zap2it lineup, I get the below message on SageTV. It looks like my EPG data was updated a while ago, so I didn't notice until now that there's no access to EPG data.

If you can't trust that your setup is working normally, you're always having to double check it to see if all your channels have vanished. When they do, all those recordings that should have happened, won't. If/When the data comes back again, did you get all of it or are there gaps? If the servers were dead and not coming back, everybody would be figuring out how to setup an alternate EPG and not looking back. As it sits, you've just got a lot of frustrated users who can't trust their systems to work correctly. |

At least two of my lineups have this warning message. Is there something people are doing to regain access to their lineups? I know my lineups exist on Zap2it's website.

I received the message at 10 PM on 1/11 and actually saw it the following afternoon. At that time, my Program Guide went out to 1/24. I checked 24 hours later and my Program Guide was out to 1/25. So I'm still getting my data and no new messages have appeared. |

My EPG shows updated EPG data all the way up until 1/24 currently. So, it looks like I am getting EPG data. Plus, like I said, Zap2it still has my lineups; despite the error message.
There is at least one critical issue though currently. There's no way to even add a new lineup anymore (my the screenshot in a previous post). Im not sure if that's affecting everyone or not. Quote:

As mentioned by Jeff earlier, there are multiple EPG servers (2 maybe?) and if you happen to get routed to the one having the issues, you get the message, otherwise you get data.
So kinda a bit of Russian Roulette |

Is there a reason why they can't just restore from a recent backup (when the server with the current problem was working correctly)? The problem didnt start happening until just recently.

The EPG data (default) goes out two weeks. So all you need is for the EPG to connect successfully once in every two week span and you'll be fine. The only thing you'd miss is if programming is changed by some channel within that period (between the last successful update and the time that you are watching/recording). That's pretty rare.
As I mentioned above, I was getting warnings every other day or so, but amidst those warnings popping up, one day I gained two more days' worth of EPG info. So as long as it connects successfully "sporadically", we should be fine until they get the mess straightened out.

not always the case.
I had several days in the middle that had No Data then had data after that time period. Took shutting down Sage, removing 2 lines from sage.properties, then restarting Sage Thats fine when I'm home, but when work takes me on the road, not something the wife is comfortable doing on the server. |

Just to add, I now have the message as well.
