We have had our packaging for all the Hauppauge cards custom made specifically for shipping, so in the on-line retail world our whitebox has certain advantages over the retail packaging.
All good news. Now just get some in stock and post availability!

It's one advantage to living in WV(The part I'm in is within an hour of DC/Baltimore). I hope we(all of us) never have to worry about a country wide tax on internet purchases.
The shaft, indeed. I lived in Nevada for 3 years, and loved the lack of income tax (gambling, yay!), internet sales tax (with no locations in NV), cheap prices, etc.

However, what you say is not 100% true. It is a common misconception that there is no state sales tax charged on shipped internet purchases from another state. The technical mechanism is that a retailer is not responsible to collect / pass on sales tax on any purchases in a state in which they do not do business. That being said, the CUSTOMER is supposed to report these purchases and pay taxes after the fact. That none do this is what is driving the push for an 'internet tax' to prevent the circumvention.

I also lived in the UK (Brighton) for years (between '77 to '83) and know for a fact that you don't have a 'sales tax'. You lucky bastards not only don't pay sales tax, but even get that 'value added' to each of your purchases. God save the Queen...!

thats the british attitude!

It gets better, when we buy £10 worth of petrol, £8 of that is tax. Thats how much we love our govenment.
And rememeber to say sorry to the waiter and look embarressed when there is something wrong with your meal (if you bother to complain at all).

And to think I should have been living in Florida now

We should have the PVR-250s in stock by 7/1/2004 (next Thursday).

We may not have any PVR-250s in stock, but we do have PVR-250MCE (retail) cards in stock. Great cards for a multi-tuner SageTV box.

This is one of the reasons why internet businesses did relatively well and are still doing well, while others suffered in the recent economy,IMHO. There are many people in the congress who want to make the temporary ban on Internet Tax perminant. There are also those who wish to preclude states from collecting taxes on such sales, no matter the method used.

You can guess which side I come down on. Too much trouble already with the ecomony and the Tax system is a total disgrace. Top 10% of earners pay less than 1% actual Tax after adjustments and other such tricks. Oh well I've gone too far off topic.

If your aleady have a PVR250 or PVR350 for the remote,etc... Then the PVR250MCE is definitely the way to go, no matter where you buy it. Just make sure it's a true PVR250MCE and not a Roslyn(search the forum to find the difference). The PVR250MCE's got a radio tuner(not yet used by Sage), better jacks for hooking up STBs, etc.
