Using SageTV server license for separate PC as Client

Does anyone know if I can use my single SageTV server license for both the server service (on server) and to run the client on a separate PC (not the server). Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

Or another server license (the server executable can be run as a client with the "-client" command line argument).

Thanks for all the replies. I did get it to work by using my old v6 server license with the modified v7 SageTV.exe.

I see you figured it out but for all of you who don't know.

*note* this only works if you have a v5 or earlier license with both a v6 and v7 upgrade license.

Install sagetvserver on server pc. Using the updated sagetv.exe to allow v5 and v6 licenses. use your v5 license to install, then shut down sagetv and start everything back up so it asks for the upgrade license then only use your v6 upgrade license.

SageTV should never ask for your license again.

*You must run your main sagetv server in service mode for this to work.*

Perform the same steps to install on client pc, this time using your v7 upgrade license instead.

go to desktop and change the target of the sagetv shortcut to
"C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\SageTV.exe" -client

You can add this shortcut to the startup directory if you intend this pc to be a client only.
