So I managed to recover from a failing system disk.... I think... but ended up restoring a prior version of sage. properties. To make a long story shorter, I reinstalled all the plugins and then noticed the weather widget on the server's client had the correct location zip... all good so far.
Then I went to an HD300 and turned it on, using gemstone, imported ALL from the servers nicely configured client and noticed the location was set on the way back machine... to an outdated zip. proceeded to clear weather location, with no luck, no change. Eventually I tracked down where in the sage.properties the setting was and changed it manually, but just thought I'd report in that in this odd case at least, the clear location ain't clearin' and import ALL ain't importin' all.... at least not location, which seems to me wouldn't be different from server to extender... maybe placshifter's are different, donno.....
I realize the extenders are using the server's location (which makes perfect sense) but if the menu option to change the location exists,... it should change the location, no?
It's an odd situation, granted, but maybe that menu option can/should just be assassinated on the extenders if it's using epg location? FWIW I don't know if changing the EPG location or the phoenix location zip made the difference, but it was one of those entries that persisted after the gemstone clear.... LMK if I can make this any more complicated!
