How do I define default background images?

I have a bunch of backgrounds under:

SageTV\STVs\SageTV7\Themes\Diamond MKANET Mod

They are called all the default names used in Diamond:
MusicBackground.jpg
TVBackground.jpg
SearchBackground.jpg

Is there a place I can copy these files so they're picked up as the default images for Gemstone? I just want to figure out the easiest way to get them to be used.

From the main menu go to Options and the select "Theme Settings"

Select "Background Manager"

Select "Add Custom Background"

Navigate to the folder with your custom images and hit Select/Enter on the image you want to add.

Select "Yes - then add more" or just "Yes" if you are done adding images.

Using Left/Right navigate to the image you want to assign to the menu and the select "Assign Background to Themed Item"

Select the menu item you want to assign the custom image to and the list should update to show the image beside the menu item.

Press Left or Done to return to Background Manager.

From there you can repeat the "Assign Background to Themed Item" process or exit to the main menu to see if it has been assigned correctly.

This is the same as replacing the images in the theme menu in Diamond and modifying the theme.properties file etc...

That should be it.

PS: you can also assign the custom BG to a default instead of a menu item and then gemstone will just use the custom BG as it it had been assigned in the theme. The steps are the same just pick the other assign option in background manager.

What do you mean by "Just pick the other assign option in BM"?

The only other assign option in BM is "Assign Background to Menu," which just gives you all available menu screens in the system. e.g., there does not appear to be any "default" setting here to assign a default BG to all screens not specifically otherwise set...

There are two options,

1. Assign Background to Menu - Assigns a custom image to any menu item directly over riding any themed backgrounds.

2. Assign Background to Themed Menu Item - Asigns a custom image to the standard theme images "TV.jpg", "Videos.jpg", "Photos.jpg"... (currently all assigned to background.jpg (grey image))

My original instructions said "Assign Background to Menu" but those were updated to say "Assign Background to Themed Menu Item" as that was the correct method jusjoken recommended for what the user MKANET wanted to do.
